Hi. I’m William. I’ve lived in Toronto for over 25 years, and I started TOREVENT.ca because I was tired of missing good shows in my city.
After the pandemic, I wanted to dive back into everything this world-class city has to offer — concerts, raves, comedy, underground film. But finding out what was actually happening was a mess. Even when I followed venues and promoters directly on social media, I’d sometimes find out about great events after they’d happened.
So I built TOREVENT.ca — a free, manually curated calendar of events in Toronto. No ads. No paywalls. No algorithm deciding what you see. Just a site that tells you what’s going on — when, where, and how to be there.
TOREVENT is a fully searchable calendar of verified events with ticket links (or links to more info) attached to each post.
Each week I gather events from around the city — music, film, comedy, art, karaoke, late-night happenings — and post them here. Everyone’s on equal footing. No paid placements, no exclusives.
More and more event promoters and venues are adding their own events each week, which helps to keep the calendar accurate and looking great!
Anyone can submit something using the red Submit an Event button on the main page. It's totally free. If you upload your own poster or image, your event will stand out — I don’t copy promo/poster art without permission.
I want to help people stay connected to the amazing cultural events going on in Toronto every day, locals and tourists alike. Also I want to level the playing field for all the smaller venues putting on events - they often have a really difficult time getting the word out. A simple calendar like this lets people see the huge variety of choices there are to get out and enjoy the culture Toronto has to offer. Spending $200 on a concert ticket doesn't guarantee a good time - sometimes checking out a smaller venue with local (or visiting from out of town) artists can be way more fun! I don’t make money off this. I just really, really want you to know there’s an experimental noise show tonight in a basement that might blow your mind.
Let’s keep Toronto’s culture thriving.
